Most Famous Traitor In History Meets His Match.
Although it's uncertain how the Iraqi people or their culture and history will benefit, the U.S., or more specifically, one individual in the United States came up with a stroke so brilliant that many thousands of lives were saved in the U.S. attack on Iraq. For a mere few hundred thousand dollars and free passage for 20 family members, unimaginable grief, death, dismemberment and horror have all been avoided. When future generations refer to "wise investments," this one must rank at the top of all lists. The general in charge of the Special Republican Guard sold his authority over 10,000 troops, and ordered them not to defend against the coalition forces entering Baghdad. Amazingly, they complied, and the capital fell in a matter of hours with no casualties, perhaps the first time this has ever been accomplished by a foreign invading force in fifty-five recorded centuries of so-called "intelligent combat," however oxymoronically it may roll off the tongue. While this does not reflect well on the alleged "superior military victory" of the U.S., it does show the wisdom of obeying the dictates and teachings of Sun Tzu, one of the two most undefeated warrior generals in history, perhaps only slightly smarter than Alexander the Great, a general at 17 and conqueror of every known country in the world at 23. Benedict Arnold has met his match. Took more than two hundred years to find someone to betray his own side on a greater scale than the American general who "sold out" to the opposition. Obviously, it was a tremendous boon to the saving of life, and reduction of war's horrors, much to the good credit of the individual who thought to follow this idea through to completion. Note that there is no "but" at the end of the sentence. At the same time, it does not speak well for a highly-trained force to be handled in such a manner. History will judge soon enough in the coming generations. For today, it does indeed appear to exceed The actions of General Benedict Arnold. |
